Gesina has been painting in oils and watercolours as a hobby for over twenty years. Inspired by Rossetti, Millais, and Burne-Jones, her subjects originate from the photographs she has taken of the many places she has lived and travelled all over the world, from Borneo to Japan, Australia and Italy, and Devon and Scotland. Selecting a photograph - often loaded with memories - she creates romantic, vivid and vibrant landscapes, some exotic and full of light, others saturated studies of poppies, bursting with passion and colour.
